Core Responsibilities:
• Safeguards Integration: Embed social, environmental, and gender safeguards into conservation projects, focusing on the Selva Maya-Mesoamerican Reef region.
• Gender Equality: Promote gender equality and empower women, rural youth and marginalized groups within local communities.
Project Coordination:
• Activity Management: Oversee preparation, budgeting, monitoring, and subcontract management.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with local communities, partner NGOs, and government officials.
• Sustainable Management: Work with local communities to promote sustainable natural resource management and support local livelihoods.
Capacity Building and Workshops:
• Training Plans: Develop and implement capacity-building plans for project personnel and partners.
• Workshops: Organize safeguards-themed workshops, focusing on women and IPs/ethnic minorities.
Protocols and Monitoring:
• Policy Application: Ensure adherence to IUCN protocols on SEAH and GBV, advising on monitoring protocols.
• Indigenous Peoples Plan: Draft a national-scale Indigenous Peoples / Ethnic Minorities Guiding Plan and review Stakeholder Engagement Plans.
Tools and Resources:
• Resource Development: Create a list of tools, guidance, data, and contacts for safeguards and gender protection.
• Grievance Mechanism: Establish and maintain a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and Grievance Log.
Strategic Partnerships and Funding:
• Partnership Coordination: Assist in forming strategic partnerships with governments, private sector, NGOs, and local communities.
• Proposal Development: Support the creation of proposals and projects to secure funding from donors and investors.
Analysis and Recommendations:
• Guideline Support: Provide analysis and recommendations on social, environmental, and gender guidelines.
• Consultative Validation: Validate and revise ESMF and GAAP into action-oriented plans (ESMP).
Additional Responsibilities:
• Workplan Development: Develop a detailed workplan with priority actions and required resources.
• Land Governance: Identify tools and capacity-building opportunities related to land governance in forest ecosystems.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in a multi-disciplinary team committed to impactful conservation efforts.
• Code of Conduct: Adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct and demonstrate TNC's values.
